The International Advisory Council on Global Bioeconomy (IACGB) provides leadership in setting the topics and themes of GBS and in selecting high level speakers for the plenaries and the panel discussions. The IACGB pulls together global bioeconomy insights and recommendations as policy guidelines following intensive discussions among its approximately 40 plus members, including youth representation. The aim is to advance a holistic understanding of the sustainable bioeconomy concept.

As part of the GBS, the IACGB publishes the “Communiqué” – setting the current scene of bioeconomy and the way forward to a global sustainable and bio-based economy, and a report on National and Regional Bioeconomy Strategies. The GBS communiques previously issued on GBS2015, GBS2018 and GBS2020, are worthwhile reference materials for coherent bioeconomy policy and practice globally.
